Featured Bike Collective
Worlds Best Bike Stickers recently heard about a new bike shop that operates much like a collective in our state! Representing Flagstaff Revolution Bicycles is taking over and kicking butt where several others have not succeeded. Here's the low down from their about page:
Business Mission-
To promote bicycling throughout the community as an alternative form of transportation and eco-friendly recreation, while being as environmentally friendly as possible through the use of re-used and recycled materials as well as non toxic shop supplies, cleaners, and lubricants.
World’s Best Bike Stickers recently dropped some love bombs on San Francisco. Sticker style that is. The Bay Area hosts a plethora of bike cooperatives, shops, and a thriving bike culture. On May 14, 2009, more than 200,000 rode their bikes to work, the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition reported.
Maya Pedal is a bike cooperative in Guatemala. They design and build creative bicycle-powered machines that assist with a variety of household tasks. Projects include building bike-powered mills, pumps and blenders. They also help with general bike maintenance for local communities.
If you are looking for a cool place to visit or volunteer in Central America - this is it!
Visit their site at www.mayapedal.org for information, photos and designs.
